The good run by Patinack Farm horses in Adelaide feature races continued when Isopach came home strongly to land the Listed Oaklands Plate at Morphettville on Saturday.

Isopach (Magic Albert), Public Holiday (Choisir) and Caplamp (General Nediym) completed a winning treble for Patinack trainer John Thompson in Adelaide.  

Isopach (2c Magic Albert – Curvaceous by Zabeel) made up ground along the rails in the straight to nail Pump It (Savabeel) in the final few strides.  Patinack stablemate Win For Wilson (Encosta de Lago) stayed on well for third having set much of the early pace.

Patinack catalogued Isopach for the 2010 Inglis Classic yearling sale but Nathan Tinkler took him back home when bidding failed to reach $50,000.

Isopach is by Yarraman Park sire Magic Albert and he is a younger half-brother to Curved Ball (Fastnet Rock) who was being touted as a potential champion in South Africa this time last year.  He is trained by Charles Laird but hasn’t progressed since winning the G2 Dingaans Hcp at Turffontein.  Their dam Curvaceous has a colt on the ground by Patinack resident Casino Prince.

Public Holiday (4m Choisir – Thanksgiving by Generous) made it four wins from her past six starts in Adelaide when clearing out in the Sportingbet Handicap (1600m).  She was originally put into work in Sydney winning a Canterbury barrier trial before moving to Brisbane to break her maiden at Eagle Farm in March 2010.

The Choisir mare was a $160,000 buy at the 2008 Inglis Easter yearling sale from Reavill Farm.  Her NZ bred dam Thanksgiving only raced twice but she did edge subsequent G2 winner Boulevardofdreams out of a place at Trentham in November 2003.  

Thanksgiving is bred in the purple and is out of a half-sister to the dam of G1 winners Bonanova, Fraternity and Telesto.  Her current 2yo is a Stratum colt that cost Ballarat trainer Barry James $120,000 at the 2010 Magic Millions HIT Sale.

Caplamp headed home a Patinack quinella in the Glenelg Cricket Club Hcp when he led from the front to defeat stablemate My King Oath (Exceed And Excel) by two lengths.  A Patinack homebred, it was his third score in five starts at Morphettville following a Mornington maiden win in January.

Caplamp (3g General Nediym – Silent Smytzer by Rory’s Jester) is a younger brother to the Kris Lees trained filly Silent But Deadly who earned black-type on four occasions in Sydney (3) and Melbourne.  

They are out of Silent Smytzer and she is not unlike Public Holiday’s dam Thanksgiving.  She also raced just twice and was runner-up to Desert Angel on debut in the 2000 Listed Debutante Stakes at Sandown.  Her latest foal is a yearling filly by Casino Prince.
