Pilkington leads Book 2 at Karaka

Mark Pilkington Management (FBAA) was the leading buyer during Book 2 of the NZB National Yearling Sale with 9 lots for a total spend of $501,000.

Topping his shopping list was the first-crop Nostradamus colt from Special Favour (Lot 926) on account of Milan Park that made $125,000. He’s a 3yo half-brother to Mr Quickie (Shamus Award) who has won his last four in a row including city scores at Morphettville and Sandown.

Mr Quickie has been nominated for the G1 Australian Guineas on behalf of a syndicate comprising Wylie Dalziel, Peter Moody and Rosemont Stud.

Nostradamus (Medaglia d’Oro) stands at Rosemont Stud after a career highlighted by a G3 San Domenico Stakes victory for Team Hawkes.

Pilkington also had the final call for Lindsay Park on the Starspangledbanner – Equestrienne filly (Lot 711). She cost $100,000 backed up by a dozen stakes winners on her page.

Other FBAA members on the NZB results sheet were John Chalmers Bloodstock ($37.5k filly by Showcasing), Laurel Oak Bloodstock ($32k colt by Jimmy Choux) and Pinhook Bloodstock ($25k colt by Ocean Park).
