Pillar to post victory for God’s Own

Pillar Of Creation collected another Super VOBIS bonus for God’s Own with a brave front-running victory at Caulfield on Saturday.

God’s Own (Redoute’s Choice) has sired the winners of 25 races since his relocation to Greta West Stud was announced in May.  There have been 255 overall from his first three crops.

Pillar Of Creation (3g God’s Own – Cosmic Dust by Hurricane Sky) opened his city account with a one length victory in the Richmond F C Member Hcp (1400m) over Committed and Greta West bred mare Hai Lil.

It was his third bonus win this campaign following a Super VOBIS maiden at Ballarat in May and a heat of the Slickpix Silver Bowl Series at Swan Hill in June.  “He’s grown up and is putting it together now,” trainer Mat Ellerton said.  “He had to work from a wide barrier and didn’t get much of a breather in front.  I liked the way he kept going in the straight.”

Pillar Of Creation has always showed ability and was stakes placed at Flemington in the LR Anzac Day Stakes last year.  “He bumped into one better a few times,” Ellerton recalled.  “We always thought he would start producing as a late-season three-year-old.”

Ellerton isn’t looking too far ahead with the Contract Racing homebred preferring to target another Super VOBIS bonus before the end of the month.  He is a half-brother to the Melbourne winners Shooting Stars (Rubiton) and White Universe (Bianconi).

Contract owner-breeders David and Jenny Moodie have been strong supporters of the Super VOBIS scheme year after year.  They won the 2010 Golden Slipper Stakes with star Super VOBIS filly Crystal Lily.

God’s Own will stand for a $5,500 (inc gst) service fee this year.  Greta West already stands the prolific winner-getters King Of Prussia (113 winners of 350 races) and Keep The Faith (112 winners of 243 races).
