Premium sisters strike for Triscari

Serpentine trainer Tony Triscari has a 71% strike-rate with full-sisters Premium Girl and Profit Pocket winning five races so far this year.

They’re homebreds for Les Andrews and are by Westbury Park stallion A Lot (USA) from Dancing Anna (Choisir).  Andrews bought into the family in 2008 when he purchased their second-dam Royal Anna (Royal Academy) for $30,000 as a yearling from Widden Stud.

Premium Girl is a 3yo filly who has gone to another level this campaign winning her maiden first-up at Pinjarra and doubling up at Bunbury on Australia Day before completing a hat-trick back at Pinjarra at the Magic Millions meeting in February.

Profit Pocket has taken longer to furnish, however, she has emerged as an autumn factor winning down the line in an Esperance maiden prior to handling a class rise in the National Pump & Energy Hcp (1400m) at Ascot last Wednesday.

The 4yo mare won in town with ears pricked after a brilliant burst of acceleration put paid to front-runner Henry Has Spoken at the furlong.  “We’re having a tremendous run and enjoying every moment,” Triscari said.  “We don’t give her a lot of hard work at home because she doesn’t hold condition.

“She was also a bit hot-headed so the trip to Esperance helped her settle down.  There’s still a long way to go and we will take her along quietly.”

A Lot is a son of Champion USA stallion Tapit (Pulpit) and he broke the North American national record for 1400m clocking an astounding 1.19.23s on turf in the LR Elusive Quality Stakes in New York.

Sir Dreamalot sent A Lot into second spot on the WA 2YO sires’ premiership with a Listed victory in the LR Supremacy Stakes (1000m) at Ascot last month and he’s currently quoted at $12 for the G2 Karrakatta Plate (1200m) on Saturday week, April 20.
