Promising filly Japhils gave Three Bridges Thoroughbreds and agent Paul Willetts a satisfying victory at Moonee Valley on Friday night.
Japhils (2f Choisir – Livonia by Polish Precedent) was sent out favourite from an inside gate and forged clear to defeat Nicconi filly Euchre Star by a length in the Sweeney Can Do Agents Hcp (1000m). She races for popular owner Phil Sly after making $105,000 from the Three Bridges draft at the 2013 Inglis Premier Sale.
The Choisir filly had been pin-hooked from Parsons Creek Farm for $50,000 at the 2012 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale.
Three Bridges has catalogued 31 yearlings for the Inglis Melbourne Premier yearling sale in March. The Liston family has a sole entrant by resident Fastnet Rock sire Stryker – a filly from Let’s Rock Again listed as Lot 351.
Let’s Rock Again (Chief’s Crown) was a Group 2 winner of the STC Reisling Slipper Stakes and the Stryker filly is her only live foal since 2008.
Other first-crop Strykers for sale at Oaklands Junction are on account of Noor Elaine Farm (Lot 129), Gilgai Farm (406), Yallambee Stud (447), Oakford Farm (676) and Flinders Park Stud (769).
Stryker made a huge impression at the Gold Coast Magic Millions with a colt going to Gerald Ryan for $220,000 and a filly that cost Gai Waterhouse $200,000.
