Proper foals by Paco Boy

Waikato Stud shuttler Paco Boy has sired his first foal – a colt out of Acclamation mare Key Light – at Nelson Farm Stud in England.

Key Light won at Kempton Park and Windsor and she is a daughter of G1 Irish Phoenix Stakes winner Eva Luna (Double Schwartz).  “He was up and moving round the box faster than any foal I’ve seen before,” studmaster Richard Tucker said.  “He certainly looks like a proper two-year-old!”

The second Paco Boy foal on the ground is a filly born at Moyglare Stud Farm out of Genuine Charm (Sadler’s Wells).  The dam is a half-sister to Melbourne Cup winner Media Puzzle.

Paco Boy (Ire) is a son of Desert Style and shuttles between Highclere Stud and Waikato Stud in Matamata.  He was a G1 winner of the 2008 Prix de la Forêt at Longchamp, 2009 Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot and 2010 Lockinge Stakes at Newbury.

“Everyone at Highclere is very excited about the Paco Boys arriving, especially as he had such a good first book of mares,” Highclere Stud’s John Warren said.  “He has been very popular again this year with 100 mares booked.”
