A public rally has been arranged for all the racing fraternity to be held in the public grandstand of the Doomben race course on Wednesday 16th December starting 10am.
The chairman will be Mr Ian McCauley OAM.
The rally is for the racing industry to consider the recommendations listed below and the desperate situation that the racing industry is facing.
Possible Recommendations:
1/The Industry rejects the proposal to implement a Racing Queensland Board with a majority membership of non-industry knowledgeable people
2/The Industry requires the government to, within 1 month, appoint a Racing Queensland Board under the current structure, with appropriate input from Industry
3/That until a Racing Queensland Board has been implemented and given sufficient time to assess the current situation and devise and agree a strategy, no changes are implemented.
TBQA President Basil Nolan has helped co-ordinate the public rally after voicing his bitter disappointment with Racing Queensland’s ‘Tracking Towards Sustainability Plan’. The TBQA website has urged the industry to have their say. “We need as many people as possible to attend on Wednesday to show the Government and Racing Queensland that we are united and we are serious about change.”
