Dazzling Kind landed a first for Eureka Stud sire Red Dazzler in the Rochelle Painting QTIS Handicap at Doomben on Saturday.
The Bryan Guy trained gelding is raced by Red Dazzler’s Singapore based owner Patrick Wee. Red Dazzler (Red Ransom) was a Group 1 winner of the Toorak Handicap at Caulfield and several of his youngsters had been sighted during the early season trials.
Eureka Stud’s Colin McAlpine reckons he’s one of the best young prospects at stud in Queensland. Red Dazzler stands with fellow Red Ransom stallion Markane at Eureka. Markane was raced by Tony Santic and was stakes placed at Flemington at two.
Red Ransom died at Vinery Australia 12 months ago aged 22. His sire sons in this part of the world are headed by Charge Forward (Arrowfield) and Domesay (Darley).
Dazzling Kind (2g Red Dazzler – That Kind Of Girl by Danehill) had been placed behind Racing Stripe at Eagle Farm a fortnight ago despite a slow getaway. “It’s nice to get off to a winning start,” Guy said. “He’s the first of the Red Dazzlers and that will make Patrick happy. He got running and has a good future.”
Wee bred Dazzling Kind and nominated him for the QTIS scheme and the gelding collected prizemoney and bonuses of $53,000. His dam That Kind Of Girl is a sister to G3 Newcastle Newmarket winner Spying.
