Rare result for Beaufort at Balaklava

Beaufort Scale (USA) is looking for a new home this year and his name appeared among the winning sires at Balaklava on Wednesday.

Beau’s My Boy (2g Beaufort Scale – Tori Silver by Blevic) won the NAB – Agribusiness Maiden Plate (1200m) on debut for trainer Jon O’Connor.  He led from barrier-to-box to score by a long head from Strobes (Good Journey).

Beaufort Scale is a son of Storm Cat and he has been based at Sutket Farm on the Bellarine Peninsula.  Only lightly used, he sired 73 foals between 2007 & 2013.

His first three crops produced 4 winners in Australia – Perfect Beau (Jamestown), My Weather Girl (St Arnaud) and stablemates Jisubani & Theway It Shatters who were both successful on King Island.

Beaufort Scale sired 14 foals in his fourth crop – now three year-olds – but ASB records indicate none have been named.  There are 4 foals among his current crop of juveniles headed by Beau’s My Boy plus another two yearlings and one weanling foaled last September.
