Redoute’s Renews status quo

Redoute’s Choice maintained this season’s status quo with another winning double at Caulfield and Rosehill on Saturday.

The Arrowfield champion was back in the spotlight with Platinum Passion (Perri Cutten Plate) and Renewed Vitality (Myer Spring Fashion Hcp).

Redoute’s Choice has established across-the-board leads in the 2011-12 Australian premierships with 43 individual winners of 50 races and over $1.89 million in prizemoney.

Platinum Passion (5m Redoute’s Choice – Stella Artois by Star Way) scored determined on-pace victory at Caulfield.  The grey mare is from a daughter of 1989 Japan Cup winner Horlicks who died just last month.

Platinum Passion is trained by Mike Moroney and was a $300,000 buy fromTwin Palms at the 2008 Inglis Easter yearling sale.  She is a half-sister to G2 Ellerslie Championship winner Tusker (Volksraad).

Renewed Vitality (4g Redoute’s Choice – Real Pzazz by Green Desert) is raced by Patinack owner Nathan Tinkler and had been working just as well as stable star Trusting in the lead-up to the winning result at Rosehill.  It was his third victory this time in since winning a Hawkesbury maiden in July.

He is from an unraced half-sister to UAE stakes winner Maidaan (Midyan) and is a younger brother to NZ winner Nina From Pasadena.  Their dam Real Pzazz has a 2yo filly by Makybe sire Purrealist.

Makybe sold Renewed Vitality for $450,000 at the 2009 Inglis Easter yearling sale.   Tony Santic sent three colts by Redoute’s Choice through the Newmarket sale ring that year and Tinkler bought all three including the half-brother to Makybe Diva.

Named Shadowofexcellence, he will be flat out returning a seven-figure price-tag but Renewed Vitality should more than pay his way with Patinack.
