The 2012 Perth Magic Millions yearling sale seems certain to be held at Belmont Park racecourse.

Belmont Park will be redeveloped to include residential and commercial precincts and there are long-term plans to relocate the local sale.

Thoroughbred Breeders WA and Magic Millions have discussed possible replacements.  “We are 90% sure it will be OK for the 2012 Perth yearling sale unless there are unforeseen circumstances,” Perth Racing chief executive Michael Heath said.  

Magic Millions managing director Vin Cox was in WA last week to discuss future yearling sales with breeders.  “We are looking to build an alternative sales venue,” Cox said.  “Entries for the 2012 Perth Sale closed last week and it will be a high quality catalogue.”
