Reset filly leads Aussie yearlings in Cape Town

Several Australian breds were sold at the Cape Town Premier yearling sale last week.  Topping the list was a Reset – Blue Finch filly that made R800,000 to the bid of Hassen Adams.

The Reset filly was purchased for $70,000 as a foal at the 2010 Magic Millions National weanling sale.  Her dam Blue Finch (Anabaa) was bred in Britain by Darley and won at Moonee Valley in February 2007.

A Dylan Thomas – Late Summer filly made R500,000.  She was exported to South Africa with her dam in April 2010.  Late Summer (Gone West) was bred in USA and is a half-sister to NZ sire Daggers Drawn.

Aussie bred colts by Danehill Dancer and Choisir both sold for $300,000 to Hassen Adams.  The owner is outspoken on racing issues in South Africa and he races brilliant Encosta de Lago filly Maureen De Lago.

The Danehill Dancer – Halimeda colt sold for $50,000 as a foal at the 2010 Magic Millions weanling sale.  He is from an unraced half-sister to the dam of G1 Florida Derby winner High Fly (Atticus).

The Choisir colt is from Hawkesbury winner Haleconia (Danehill).  He was a $57,500 buy as a foal at the 2010 Magic Millions weanling sale.  Second dam Cannsea (Canny Lad) was a G1 winner of the NZ Railway Stakes.
