Reward For Effort under offer for stud career

Group 1 winning sprinter Reward For Effort has been retired.  The Exceed And Excel horse is currently under offer to several high profile studs.

“Reward For Effort aggravated a fetlock injury during the Oakleigh Plate,” Dynamic Syndications manager Dean Watt revealed.  “The injury first occurred as a spring three-year-old.  It was a constant concern for Peter Moody and, ultimately, it has caused his premature retirement.”

Reward For Effort (4h Exceed And Excel-Miss Prospect by Rory’s Jester) won the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes and overall won four races from 10 starts earning more than $930,000 in prizemoney.  His other victories were in the G3 Concorde Stakes at Rosehill and the Listed John Monash Stakes and Listed Blue Diamond Preview at Caulfield.

Reward For Effort was sold by Basinghall Farm to Dynamic Syndications at the 2008 Inglis Melbourne Premier yearling sale for $190,000.

Darley shuttler Exceed And Excel sired him from Randwick and Moonee Valley stakes winner Miss Prospect.  He is a half-brother to 7 winners including iron-horse Consular (Royal Academy) who won 16 races to Listed level in Melbourne and Brisbane.
