Rich Enuff set for G1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes

Excitement machine Rich Enuff will kick-off his spring campaign in the G3 Heath Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on August 29.

The Written Tycoon colt is back in action after being sidelined with a ligament injury leading up to the autumn carnival.  He had emerged as a star of last year’s spring carnival winning the LR McKenzie Stakes, G2 Danehill Stakes and G3 Guineas Prelude before finishing a brave second in the G1 Caulfield Guineas.

Rich Enuff is a homebred for Cranbourne trainer Ken Keys and his wife Louise.  They own a 50% share in the colt with long-time stable client Colin Johnstone who holds another 25%.

Woodside Park purchased 25% and the breeding rights to Rich Enuff after his heroics this time last year.  He will retire to the Tylden nursery in 2016.

“He looks well, feels well and is working well,” Keys said this week.  “He’s 60kg heavier and has come on like I hoped he would.  We’re looking to trial him here at Cranbourne next Monday week (August 10).”

Keys has booked Damien Oliver for the spring and his Group 1 goal this campaign is the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on September 26.
