Much hype surrounded the arrival of the first foals of Rangal Park sire Danerich twelve months ago.  A year down the track and those foals have developed into terrific yearlings at their home base in Euroa and at studs around Victoria.

“They are well boned and have the Danehill hindquarters and legs,” Rangal Park owner Eric Buttler said.  “They are all big and strong and we are receiving positive feedback from all the owners that sent broodmares to him.”

Danerich (Danehill-Millrich by Rubiton) was a $500,000 buy for trainer Robbie Laing at the 2004 Gold Coast Magic Millions.  Possessed with speed to burn, his wins included the G3 McNeil Stakes (1100m) and the Listed Mitchell McKenzie Stakes (1100m) at Moonee Valley.

From just 17 starts, he was also placed in the G2 Schillaci Stakes (1000m) and the G3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400m) behind Apache Cat and God’s Own.

“It is Danehill’s speed sons that have been the most successful at stud and Danerich could definitely motor,” Buttler said.  “It is wonderful to see the quality of his first yearlings…they have everything going for them leading into the Melbourne Premier Sale next year.”

Danerich is out of the Rubiton mare Millrich, a winner of the G3 STC Sweet Embrace Stakes (1200m).  She was also placed in the G1 Golden Slipper (1200m), G2 AJC Silver Shadow Stakes (1100m), G2 STC Magic Night Stakes (1200m) and G3 San Domenico Stakes (1000m).

Second dam Mill Rani (Millionaire) is a three-quarter-sister to the dam of Group winners Dilly Dally, Li Lo Lill, Linga Longa Lucy.

The Danerich pedigree will continue to gather momentum in years to come with Millrich’s most recent foals colts by God’s Own and Holy Roman Emperor.
One of the last sons of Danehill to go to stud, Danerich is an imposing and correct individual standing 16.2 hands.  He has received very strong support from Super VOBIS breeders covering 123 mares in 2007 and another 94 last year.  He is on track to serve at least another 100 mares in 2009.

In line with the majority of studs, Rangal Park has reduced the service fee for Danerich from $7,700 to $5,500 this year.  He stands alongside Rangal Park stalwart Keltrice (Kenmare) and up-and-coming sire Ne Coupez Pas (Nureyev).
