Rosemont Stud wrapped up the season with a clean sweep of winners from its draft at the 2012 Gold Coast Magic Millions.
The three colts and three fillies from that auction collectively cost $457,000 and they have since returned more than $610,000 in prizemoney with plenty more to come.
Brilliant Meteor (Northern Meteor) became the sixth graduate win when he cantered home on debut at Newcastle last weekend. He was a $130,000 buy for clients of trainer David Pfeiffer.
The 2012 Gold Coast consignment has been highlighted by Group 3 Sydney Championships winning filly Estonian Princess. Sold for just $65,000, she has was also runner-up to Sweet Idea in the Magic Millions 3YO Trophy.
Turquoise King (Stratum) has been a lovely money-spinner for Hawkes Racing as well winning three in town and $115,000 in prizemoney.
Other recent winners include Fiftyshadesofgrey (Written Tycoon ) for Marc Conners, Our Sarastro (Shamardal) for the Cummings stable and Cyrenia (Stratum) for Paul Perry.
Rosemont followed up at the 2013 yearling sales with G1 South African winner Alboran Sea, Group performed Singapore gelding Know Each Other, undefeated local galloper Novel Dancer who is on a G1 Thousand Guineas campaign and Gai Waterhouse’s trial winner Precia.
Rosemont sold another 18 lots at the Gold Coast in January with those yearlings about to embark on their racing careers.
“Buyers and trainers love to buy from farms that throw winners and it’s a lovely feather in our cap to be gaining a strong reputation in that area,” Rosemont’s Anthony Mithen said. “Winning is the ultimate goal in our game, so selling winners has to be our business.”
The Victorian based nursery is set to take another quality group of yearlings to all sales in 2015, highlighted by the first crop of its G1 Golden Rose winner Toorak Toff.
