Royal Academy’s G1 winner Eyeofthetiger has been put down in South Africa.  He sustained a broken shoulder at The Alchemy Stud earlier this week.

Eyeofthetiger (Royal Academy – Indian Chris by Ghadeer) was bred in Brazil and had been standing in the Western Cape since retiring to stud in 2007.  He was a G1 winner of the 2006 Durban July Handicap.  He was the highest weighted 3yo to ever win the July and he carved it out in the second fastest time since 1970.

His dam Indian Chris won the Brazilian Fillies Triple Crown and was also a G3 winner of the Countess Fager Hcp in the USA.
