Second winner for Jet Spur

Glenlogan Park sire Jet Spur sired his second winner at Ipswich yesterday when True Blue Angel motored home to win the New Breed Mack Metroliner Maiden (800m).

Jet Spur joins fellow Glenlogan Park sire Bradbury’s Luck and Widden stallion Snippetson in the lead for the Australian first-season sires’ champion ship in the winners category.

True Blue Angel (2f Jet Spur – Twilight Blue by Semipalatinsk) was spotting the leader Little Zachary four lengths in the straight at Ipswich but collared the leader close to home and won running away by a half length.

The winner was a $12,000 buy at the 2009 Gold Coast Magic Millions Summer yearling sale as part of the Peppertree Stud draft.  She was purchased by Ron Maund but is now under the care of Lex Frazer at Toowoomba.

True Blue Angel’s dam Twilight Blue was unplaced in 8 starts before retiring to stud.  She is a sister to Oh Blue Angel who was a Listed winner of the VRC Great Western Hcp at Flemington.

Jet Spur registered his first winner when the Liam Birchley trained Slice And Dice won at Eagle Farm on November 14.

Jet Spur is priced at $6 on Sportingbet’s latest market for the Australian first-season sires’ champion ship in the winners category.
