Seventh heaven in Hong Kong for Magic Millions

Entrapment made history in Hong Kong on Sunday when he cruised to victory in the HK$1.6 million Juvenile Sprint Trophy (1200m).  He led home a trifecta for Magic Millions graduates in the Sha Tin feature.

Entrapment (3g Halo Homewrecker – Miabondialee by Vettori) also became the first horse in history to win seven races during a season in Hong Kong.  The rising star has earned over HK$4 million after being purchased for $16,000 by NZ Bloodstock from the Trevannah draft at the 2007 Magic Millions National weanling sale.

Runner-up Tai Sing Yeh (Not A Single Doubt) was sold for $125,000 at the 2008 Magic Millions HIT Sale when consigned by Hilton Thoroughbreds.  Third home Danewin Tiger (Danewin) was a $50,000 buy at the 2008 Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling Sale when offered by Amaraina Farm.

Winning trainer John Size was thrilled after the gelding extended his unbeaten run to seven.  “Obviously, he’s a horse of tremendous ability, but he’s also a genuine racehorse who really wants to win.  He’s won twice on the all weather and he’s won on good and soft tracks.”

Size said the record winning streak would not continue this season.  “He’s now rated too high so there’s no suitable races.  He’s done enough and will be going straight to Group races next season.”

Entrapment is by Southern Halo sire Halo Homewrecker who served just one season at Lindsay Park in 2005.  His dam Miabondialee was a Moonee Valley winner and comes from the family of G1 Karrakatta Plate winner Umah and Malaysian Magic Millions Classic winner Captain Obvious.
