In-form trainer Vaughn Sigley produced another promising city winner when She’s A Virtue completed a hat-trick at Ascot on Saturday.

The daughter of unheralded sire He’s A Decoy went to the line hands-and-heels in the Happy Birthday Harvey Crossman Hcp (1100m).  “I’ve got a fair bit of time for this mare,” Sigley said.  “She did have a problem at the barriers early on but Geoff Martin sorted that out.”

She’s A Virtue (4m He’s a Decoy – Impatient Lass by Dr Johnson) had missed the kick on debut at Pinjarra on December 14 and was only beaten a half-length by Klondike King who scored again at Ascot.  “She led to win her next two at Bunbury and Pinjarra but showed today she can take a sit,” Sigley continued.  “She’s a nice cut of a mare and we will take her through the grades.”

Her dam Impatient Lass won a Pinjarra maiden for John Roberts in February 2005 and was part of the Multiplex dispersal following his death in June 2006.

She was purchased by Craig Ferguson for $10,000 and foaled Impatient Times first-up to win 6 races and over $250,000 in prizemoney.  He was also stakes placed in the 2010 Crawford Stakes at Ascot.

He’s A Decoy (In The Wings) is an Irish-bred half-brother to Danetime and stands at Westbury Park Stud in Pinjarra.  He won the LR Rochestown 2YO Stakes (1400m) at Cork and the following year was third home in the G1 Irish 2000 Guineas (1600m) at the Curragh.

There have been just 4 starters among his first-crop four year-olds and, apart from She’s A Virtue, include the winners Dabang (Ascot x 3) and Grey Enigma (Bunbury).
