Shinko King succumbs to laminitis

New Zealand based sire Shinko King has been put down at Paxton Park in Cambridge due to laminitis.  He was 21.

Shinko King (Fairy King) was bred by Coolmore associate Ron Con and Swettenham Stud.  His half-brother Dr Devious won an English Derby for Swettenham’s Robert Sangster.

The Irish bred stallion won 8 races in Japan including the G1 Takamatsunomiya Hai.  His own G1 winners are headed by Eskimo Queen (Queensland Oaks & Coolmore Classic), Bramble Rose (New Zealand Oaks), Barinka (NZ Breeders’ Stakes) and Thumbs Up (Hong Kong Classic Mile),

Paxton Park stands Gorky Park (Montjeu) and Prince Conti (Redoute’s Choice).
