Show A Heart can continue a ground-breaking season when Rightfully Yours lines up in the $1 million G1 Stradbroke Handicap on June 6.
Show A Heart sired his first G1 winner when the Mick Price trained Heart Of Dreams won the Australian Guineas at Flemington and then added the G2 Phar Lap Stakes at Rosehill.
His Magic Millions 2yo Classic winner Mimi Lebrock won the G2 Tristarc Stakes for Bart Cummings and she will be one of the star lots at the Magic Millions National Sale next month.
Price knows how to get the best out of a Show A Heart. Heart Of Dreams is a younger brother of Rightfully Yours and he is quietly confident their dam Academy Of Dreams (Royal Academy) will have a second G1 winner by the Glenlogan Park sire this season.
Rightfully Yours emerged with a string in wins in Melbourne late last spring to earn a start in the G1 WATC Railway Stakes. He started favourite but didn’t fire in the Perth Mile won by Gilded Venom.
Another feature win went missing on May 2 when he lost the Listed Prime Minister’s Cup (1300m) at the Gold Coast on protest to Mr Hornblower.
Price has Rightfully Yours on target for the Stradbroke and his final lead-up will be in the G3 BTC Sprint (1350m) this Saturday, May 16.
Show A Heart rounded off Saturday’s Hawkesbury stand-alone meeting on a winning note when Animando scored first-up for Rosehill trainer Gerald Ryan.
The lightly raced four year-old gelding is lucky to be even at the track after suffering a hoof injury that has hampered his career.
“When he was at the breakers he kicked out at a rail and took away almost three quarters of his foot,” Ryan explained. “The vets were leaning towards putting him down and said that if he survived he would never race.
“But we have persevered and cuddled him through it. He has a stack of ability and I would go so far as to say that if he hadn’t have suffered that injury he would have been a Group horse for sure.”
Glenlogan Park has announced Show A Heart’s fee will remain at $30,000 for 2009. He heads a Glenlogan Park roster that includes Jet Spur ($15,000), Bradbury’s Luck ($13,500) and Falvelon ($16,000). A fees are + gst.
