Silent Achiever booked to Frankel

Group 1 winning mare Silent Achiever (NZ) was flown to England this week to be covered by Frankel.

“We want to breed her to southern hemisphere time so she has been under lights to extend the daylight hours,” Valachi Downs manager Jonathan Scully said.  “She’s got a good coat on her and we’re looking at an early September cover.  The idea at the moment is for that resulting foal to come home in time and to cover her again up there so she may be away for three years.

“Galileo, Dansili and Sea the Stars are stallions that have all been talked about.”

Silent Achiever was prepared throughout her career by Roger James for Group 1 victories in the New Zealand Derby and the New Zealand Stakes at home and the Ranvet Stakes and BMW in Sydney.

The winner of 10 of her 36 starts and more than $3.60 million, Silent Achiever was unplaced in the G1 Doomben Cup in May in her final appearance.  “She didn’t put on too much weight in the meantime, about 30kgs,” Scully added.  “Given they can lose 20kgs on the flight, she will arrive in good condition.”
