Eureka Stud freshman Red Dazzler sired his sixth winner when El Milagro scored an eye catching win on debut at Kranji on Friday night.
El Milagro (2g Red Dazzler – Vinzky by Stravinsky) was clicked up early by rider Barend Vorster to hold a forward position and, despite being pressured throughout, he was able to score stylishly. The flashy youngster drew clear of Magical Sunset (Hussonet) to win by a length and a half.
“I wasn’t sure whether he would find a lot under pressure,” trainer Don Baertschiger said. “He has a high head carriage and can do a few things wrong but will only get better.”
Raced by the Bingo Stable, El Milagro caught the eye of his trainer with a 200 metre breeze up in a slick 10.45s before the Magic Millions National HIT Sale at the Gold Coast in October.
Baertschiger bought him for $100,000 from the Symphony Lodge draft.
El Milagro’s NZ bred dam Vinzky is a sister to five time winner and triple stakes placed Muzdaher. The mare is from a winning Snaadee daughter of VRC Oaks and Thousand Guineas winner Tristanagh.
Red Dazzler (Red Ransom) was a G1 winner of the Toorak Hcp at Caulfield before retiring to the McAlpine family’s Eureka Stud in Queensland.
