Snippetson mare Forever Dreaming had been placed five times this season for trainer Colin Webster before winning Heat 3 of the Westspeed Platinum Series (1400m) at Ascot on Saturday.
She was poised to pounce on the home-turn before grinding out a tough victory for stable jockey Troy Turner over Playing God gallopers Playz With Fire and Success Play.
Forever Dreaming joins prior Heat winners Capricorn Man (Maschino) and Deamber (Vert De Grece) as the leading qualifiers for the $100,000 Westspeed Platinum Series Final (1400m) at Ascot on December 9.
Webster paid $24,000 for Forever Dreaming out of the Scenic Lodge draft at the 2020 Perth Magic Millions on behalf of a syndicate that includes his wife Lynn, breeder Glenn Martin and brothers Mark & Paul Luzi who race seven-figure stayer Marocchino (Maschino) with trainer Lou Luciani.
Scenic Lodge had also sold this year’s LR Miss Andretti Stakes (1100m) and LR Summer Scorcher (1000m) winner How’s the Serenity (Magnus) as agent for Martin at the 2019 Perth Magic Millions.
Forever Dreaming’s dam Absolute Cracker (Flying Pegasus) had been a $50,000 buy for Martin from Heytesbury Stud at the 2010 Perth Magic Millions when he was managing director of Touchstone Farm at North Dandalup.
Absolute Cracker was a Belmont 2yo winner for trainer Trevor Andrews and second-dam Arabella (Belele) was a Group 3 winner of the 1994 WATC Sires’ Produce Stakes.
Snippetson’s penultimate-crop yearlings catalogued by Scenic Lodge for the Perth Magic Millions in February include standout colts from Zany Lady and Prime Knockout.
Zany Lady (Zeditave) is a daughter of G2 Champion Fillies Stakes winner Mercurial Madam (Is It True) and her Snippetson is a full-brother to multiple city winner Spin The Knife. Prime Knockout (Mossman) is the dam of Blackfriars filly Like A Butterfly (LR Ascot 1000 Guineas) and Featherweight who is another multiple city winner by Snippetson.
