So Many Ways among royalty at Northern Farm

Katsumi Yoshida has purchased Saratoga Group 1 winner So Many Ways for his world-class Northern Farm nursery in Hokkaido.

So Many Ways (3f Sightseeing – Happy Scene by Dehere) scored 5 times in 10 starts including the G1 Spinaway Stakes, G3 Schuylerville Stakes and G3 Eight Belles Stakes.  She was last seen winning the LR Charles Town Oaks on September 2.

Owner Maggi Moss bought the filly for $22,000 at the 2011 Fasig-Tipton Maryland yearling sale.  “I would like to thank (trainer) Tony Dutrow for the irreplaceable memories of her wins at Saratoga,” Moss said.  “She will be among royalty with Mr. Yoshida’s mares.”

So Many Ways joins G1 winning USA mares Azeri, Zazu and Musical Romance at Northern Farm.  Yoshida and his brother Teruya have combed the world in recent years buying champion fillies and mares from Ireland (Lush Lashes), Belle Watling (Chile) and Balada Sale (Argentina).

They also purchased Arc de Triomphe winner Danedream and bought a half-share in VRC Oaks winner Mosheen.

The majority of those mares will be mates with Japan’s champion sire Deep Impact who stands at the Yoshida family’s Shadai Stallion Station.
