Sooboog to stand at Kitchwin Hills

Snitzel’s Group 3 winning sprinter Sooboog has been signed to stand at Kitchwin Hills.

Sooboog was bought by Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa for $1.50 million at the 2014 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale and he reached a career peak with a Group 3 victory in the Aurie’s Star Hcp (1200m) at Flemington.

“He was certainly right up there with some of the better two year-olds I’ve ever trained,” John Hawkes said.  “He was the early favourite for the Golden Slipper but was injured when runner-up to Vancouver in the Breeders’ Plate.  We never got to see how good he really was as a two year-old.”

Sooboog (Snitzel – Monte Rosa by Fraar) is a brother to G1 Lightning Stakes winner Snitzerland out of a sister to Group 1 performer mare Nina Haraka.

Kitchwin Hills is offering a limited number of lifetime breeding rights in Sooboog at $30,000.  He will stand at $12,000 but that may be revised upwards depending on his performances this year.
