Southern Frankel fee $180,000

Juddmonte Farms has announced the southern hemisphere covering fee for world champion Frankel will be 100,000 pounds (AUD 180,560) this season.

The son of Galileo covered a limited book of 21 mares to southern time in 2013 including John Singleton’s champion mare More Joyous and More Strawberries.  The Australian owner-breeder will send Group 1 winner Samantha Miss and Deedra this year.

Frankel’s first foals have created quite a stir both in the bloodstock industry and further afield.  News cameras flocked to film one of his early arrivals, a filly out of Song, while the first colt by the sire offered at public auction fetched 1.15 million pounds (AUD 2.07 million) when offered with his dam Crystal Gaze.

Juddmonte confirmed that champion British sires Dansili and Oasis Dream will also be covering limited books this autumn.
