Royal Academy stallion My Vegas has been catalogued for the Inglis Sydney Summer Sale this Friday. He should be popular with mid-range studmasters looking for a well-bred stakes winner.
My Vegas (7h Royal Academy – Smytzer’s Century by Geiger Counter) won the Listed Starlight Handicap at Rosehill in February 2009 and four other races in 25 starts. The John McNair prepared sprinter has trained off this year finishing last in all bar one of his last six starts.
My Vegas is by Coolmore stallion Royal Academy whose Australian based sons include Bel Esprit and Miss Andretti’s sire Ihtiram.
He is from an unraced half-sister to G1 South Australian Oaks winner Gamine (Keen). She is the dam of G2 VATC St George Stakes winner Royal Voyage (Danehill) and second dam of Sun Classique (Fuji Kiseki) who earned Champion honours in South Africa and UAE.
Group 1 winning gelding Dealer Principal is also for sale at Newmarket this Friday. The Flying Spur six-year-old won the 2008 Rosehill Guineas and has earned over $584,000 in prizemoney.
He was only beaten three lengths by Captain Sonador in the G1 Epsom Hcp in October and was badly checked last time out in the LR Gosford Cup a fortnight ago.
