Star colt for Not A Single Doubt

The winners keep coming for Arrowfield Stud’s second-season stallion Not a Single Doubt.  The latest landed at Randwick on Wednesday when Squamosa scored a three length victory in the Free Entry Today Hcp (1150m).

Squamosa (2c Not A Single Doubt – Class Success by Success Express) was sent out an odds-on favourite after a pair of brilliant trial wins at Warwick Farm and he lived up to those hit-outs with a powerful display on debut.

Not A Single Doubt has now sired 39 winners of 62 races in Australia this season.  He is in third place on the second-season sires’ premiership for winners behind Fastnet Rock (56) and Al Maher (48).

Gai Waterhouse and Star Thoroughbreds syndicator Denise Martin bought him for $140,000 from the Arrowfield draft at the 2009 Gold Coast  Magic Millions.  “He’s a really smart type,” Martin beamed.  “And he’s got a stack of ability.”

The colt is owned by the same Malaysian connections that race Gigas (Dubai Destination) who has wins to her credit at Randwick (2) and Rosehill.

Squamosa also impressed winning rider Nash Rawiller.  “He’s a bit cheeky but has ability,” Rawiller explained.  “He got through the (heavy) ground and I think he’s got a future.”

Squamosa is a half brother to stablemate Flying Success who won races at Gosford and Warwick Farm earlier this year.  Their dam Class Success was a Listed winner at Ellerslie and Avondale and she added another at Moonee Valley.  She has a yearling filly by Flying Spur and was covered by Snitzel last year.

Not A Single Doubt stands alongside his own sire Redoute’s Choice at Arrowfield and is available at a $13,750 (inc gst) service fee this year.

His 2010 book will keep filling while his winners keep doubling up in Sydney and Melbourne.  Since the start of June, he has sired the multiple city winners Doubleful Jack (Flemington – twice), No Hesitation (Rosehill – twice) and Spirited Eagle (Sandown & Moonee Valley).

What price Squamosa makes it two-from-two when he steps out again later this month?
