Arrowfield stallion Starcraft is closing the current season in style. His Victorian based filly Ain’tnofallenstar added more black-type when she produced a stunning burst to land the Listed Laelia Stakes (1600m) at Morphettville.
Ain’tnofallenstar is trained by Lee Freedman and Sunday’s victory over Jalsah (Elusive Quality) and Fashion (Encosta De Lago) was achieved in similar circumstances to her late closing win in the Listed Nitschke Stakes in February.
Ain’tnofallenstar (3f Starcraft – Ain’t Seen Nothin’ by Nothin’ Leica Dane) was a $270,000 buy from the draft of Arrowfield Stud at the 2009 Gold Coast Magic Millions. She is one of two winners for former quality performer Ain’t Seen Nothin’. Her other winner is Mornington based mare Hidden Charges.(Charge Forward).
Ain’t Seen Nothin’ won stakes races at Flemington, Canberra and Kembla Grange and she was also G1 placed in an Underwood Stakes. She has an unnamed 2yo by Starcraft, a yearling colt by Hussonet and a filly foal by Starcraft.
Starcraft has sired seven stakes winners this season headed by his first crop Group 1 winners Star Witness and We Can Say it Now. Apart from Ain’tnofallenstar, his other southern hemisphere bred black-type winners in 2010-11 have been Crafty Irna, Do You Think, Singapore Sling And Starcheeka.
Starcraft colt Star Witness heads a contingent of four Australian entries for the Royal Ascot meeting in June. The Danny O’Brien trained flyer will be retired to Widden Stud to cover his first book later this year.
Starcraft will stand for a $44,000 (inc gst) fee at Arrowfield in 2011.
