Widden Stud freshman Strada registered his first winner when Charm’s Honour was successful at Muswellbrook on Monday.
Charm’s Honour (2f Strada – She’s Got Charm by Bletcharm) showed plenty of speed to lead from barrier one and fought on tenaciously to score by a long head in the Peter Doyle Cellars Hcp (900m).
Prepared at Scone by Greg Bennett, Charm’s Honour was retained to race by the Porch family who bred her from Flemington winner She’s Got Charm. The mare has already foaled the Belong To Me winner What’s My Story. The second dam is a half-sister to G1 AJC Champagne Stakes winner Quick Star.
Widden stands Strada at a fee of $9,900. He a superbly bred son of champion sire of sires Danehill from GI STC Coolmore Classic winner Shindig. His stock were very well received at the sales this year selling for up to $180,000.
