Darley Victoria shuttler Street Boss has unbeaten filly Petits Filous ready to take on black-type company after another convincing victory in the United Refrigeration Hcp (1000m) on Saturday.
It was her second victory in as many starts at Moonee Valley and she will race next in the G3 Quezette Stakes at Caulfield on August 15. “It’s her first prep and she’s going well, but it’s a balancing act,” trainer Ciaran Maher said. “She has ability but you want to see them keep developing.”
Petits Filous cost $65,000 at the 2014 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale and has earned $107,000 including $42,000 in VOBIS incentives. She is the second foal of Excellent Lady (Exceed And Excel) who is a half-sister to G1 Mackinnon Stakes winner La Bella Dama.
Street Boss (USA) has another top-class three year-old in North America named Holy Boss. He completed a black-type hat-trick by beating Requite (Warrior’s Reward) in the G2 Amsterdam Stakes at Saratoga on Saturday. It followed Listed victories in the Chick Lang Stakes at Pimlico and Bachelor Stakes at Oaklawn.
Trainer Steve Asmussen indicated Holy Boss will now be set for the G1 King’s Bishop Stakes at Saratoga on August 29. “I love him winning a race on this stage,” Asmussen said at the Spa. “He showed more maturity today than he has in any of his previous races and looked very good to the wire.”
Street Boss (Street Cry) is standing the coming breeding season at Northwood Park in Seymour at a fee of $11,000 (inc gst).
