Street Boss winner in charge for Pearce Racing

Triple Jay joined a procession of Pearce Racing 3yo winners this season with a first-up victory in the Stable Affairs Maiden (1200m) at Pinjarra on Thursday.

He’s the 22nd individual 3yo winner to emerge from the Karnup stables operated by Dan and Ben Pearce in 2022-23 and they have won a total of 38 races.

“He has a blueblood pedigree and we think he has a bright future,” they reported after he kicked away to defeat Uncle Gerard (Alfred Nobel) and Busters Free (A Lot).  “He tired over the final stages but didn’t let punters down as a short-priced favourite.”

Triple Jay had finished fourth on debut at Pinjarra in December and was very impressive winning a Lark Hill barrier trial last month.  He was bred and retained by Oakland Park and races for one the stud’s syndicates in the familiar Yellow & Black Maltese Cross colours.

Triple Jay is probably the best-bred of Pearce Racing’s long list of 3yo winners as a son of Street Boss (USA) who has sired Godolphin’s Group 1 Champion Anamoe and Perth’s own Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes winner Elite Street.

He’s a half-brother to Bruckner (Snitzel) who won the G3 McNeil Stakes and has just been signed to stand his first-season at the Victorian branch of Widden Stud.  He’s also a three-quarter brother to G3 Vain Stakes winner Jukebox (Snitzel) who is based at Aquis Farm in Queensland.

Triple Jay’s dam Jestajingle (Lonhro) won at Ascot and Belmont for Oakland Park’s Neville and Susan Duncan.  His second-dam Jestatune (Rory’s Jester) won a LR Gimcrack Stakes at Ascot and is a half-sister to G1 Kingston Town Classic winner Ihtsahymn.

Jestajingle is now owned by former Blue Gum Farm owners Phil and Patti Campbell who prepared Oakland Park graduates like Bruckner ($725k), Ducimus ($700k) and Jukebox $200k) for the Inglis Melbourne Premier Sales.  The Campbells bred a Zoustar – Jestajingle colt in partnership that made $500,000 when purchased by Annabel Neasham at Oaklands Junction in March.
