Street Cry colt Zaidan has been sold to do his future racing in Hong Kong.  He will probably have his first start in April for trainer John Moore.

Zaidan (2c Street Cry – Element Of Truth by Atticus) looked a world-beater when he won the Listed Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot in June.  He took an unbeaten record into the Listed Washington Singer Stakes at Newbury in August but didn’t act on the slow ground behind Sheikh Mohammed’s colt Jannod (Medicean).

Zaidan is from a Newmarket winning half-sister to Irish G3 winner Ramooz (Rambo Dancer).  He was a $200,000 buy for Saeed Manana at the 2009 Keeneland September yearling sale.

Manana’s interests are managed by the Darley offshoot Rabbah Bloodstock and they sold the colt for an undisclosed sum in a deal brokered by Alastair Donald of Kern Lillingston.

“He is one of the best two-year-olds we’ve bought for Hong Kong,” said Donald.  “He’s a firm ground horse and didn’t really handle the easier going on his final two runs in England.  But he looked the real deal at Royal Ascot.”

Trainer Clive Brittain believes Zaidan is a classic colt in the making and had a Kentucky Derby program mapped out before the sale to Hong Kong.
