The first Australian crop of Makybe shuttler Street Hero was presented at the Melbourne Premier yearling sale on Monday and averaged over six times his service fee.
The Street Boss colt out of stakes winning mare Mutate (Lot 87) was knocked down to Cameron Cooke Bloodstock and Kennewell Racing for $100,000 while his filly from Royal Lineup (Lot 183) was purchased by Colin Little for $87,500.
“We have been delighted with the feedback on the Street Hero progeny for some time and that was reflected in the Day 1 results,” Makybe’s Deslee Santic said.
Street Hero is a G1 winning son of Street Cry and was the second fastest winner of the Norfolk Stakes in the last decade. He clocked a full second faster than Lookin at Lucky who was champion 2yo & 3yo of his year.
Street Hero stands with Purrealist at Makybe and is set to shuttle to Australia for his third season in 2012. Purrealist has already sired three metropolitan winners to date including Pure Hustle, a colt trained by Gai Waterhouse and on a Golden Slipper campaign.
