Artie Schiller is finishing the year in style with his first Kentucky bred two year-olds.  The G1 Breeders’ Cup Mile hero is having a break from shuttling duties this year but will return in 2011 when he will be based at Rangal Park.

Artie Schiller sired his latest maiden winner on Saturday when Bear’s Chill blitzed his rivals by 8 lengths at Woodbine.

Bear’s Chill (2c Artie Schiller–Silver Nithi by Numerous) took command with a strong move approaching the home turn and then drew off under Emile Ramsammy to carve out the 1400m in 1.24.38s.

The Reade Baker trained colt was bred by Glenview Stables and is from a Canadian black-type winner of the Bison City Stakes.

On Sunday, Artie Schiller filly Magic Party completed a winning hat-trick in Seoul.  She was beaten on debut in August but has won her last three by a combined margin of 18 lengths and earned the equivalent of AUD 112,000.

Magic Party (2f Artie Schiller – Gigi’s Magic by Allen’s Prospect) is from a Pimlico Listed winner related to G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner Stevie Wonderboy.  She was conceived in March 2007 and her dam Gigi’s Magic was flown to South Korea the following December.

Artie Schiller (El Prado) has sired 11 individual winners to date headed by Listed Glorious Song Stakes winner Anne’s Beauty.  Another talented youngster is his recent Aqueduct winner Parting Words.

Besides his Breeders’ Cup Mile triumph, Artie Schiller won another 9 races from just 22 starts and earned over $2.08 million.

Artie Schiller shuttled to Independent Stallions for three years until 2009 and his initial southern yearlings were offered at this year’s majors.  They averaged $43,132 and the most expensive was the $165,000 colt at the Gold Coast Magic Millions.
