Philanthropist highlighted a dominant night for Karaka Sales graduates in Singapore on Sunday. He was one of 7 winners on the 12 race card that changed hands via New Zealand Bloodstock.
PHILANTHROPIST (Churchill Downs) was sold by Esker Lodge for $21,000 at the 2011 NZB Ready to Run Sale and he downed front-runner Klever Man (Dehere) for a narrow victory in the featured Pinnacle Stakes.
MAX VELOCITY (Elusive City) sold for $25,000 out of the Windsor Park at the 2007 Karaka Select Sale Stud. He was initially prepped by Lisa Latta before joining expat Kiwi trainer Bruce Marsh.
MY TRICIA (One Cool Cat) helped Te Akau trainer Mark Walker achieve the impressive milestone of 1000 winners. She was bought by Te Akau’s David Ellis from the 2011 Karaka Premier Sale for $55,000 from Cambridge Stud.
KALLISAN (Stratum) won for former NZ trainer Stephen Gray and owner King George Stable. The well-bred filly is from G3 Highview Stakes winner Eloa (Volksraad) and she emerged at the 2009 Karaka Premier Sale from Little Avondale Stud for $220,000.
