It will take a super effort to stop NZ bred colt Super Easy claiming this year’s Singapore 3YO Challenge.
Super Easy (3c Darci Brahma – Parfore by Gold Brose) sprinted a brilliant first-up victory at Kranji on Sunday to extend his winning streak to six on end. He was back in harness for the first time since scoring at G2 level in the E W Barker Trophy in November.
“This horse is improving all the time,” winning jockey Joao Moreira declared. “He jumped well and put his head down straightaway to get on the bit. All I had to do was to hold him together till the home turn and he got to the line strongly.
“I am looking forward to sticking with this horse as I think he will do pretty well this season. If he keeps improving, I even think the owners should race him overseas one day.”
Super Easy was sold for $140,000 out of the Esker Lodge draft at the 2010 Karaka Premier Sale. He has now earned S$445,000 for the Joy N Happiness Stable and trainer Anthony Freedman.
He is a son of up-and-coming NZ stallion Darci Brahma who is based at The Oaks Stud. He has been represented by 27 first crop winners and, apart from Super Easy, has sired the stakes winners Darci Be Good (G3 NJC Spring Stakes) and Artistic (LR Bonecrusher Stakes).
The Singapore 3YO Challenge series starts with the Singapore 3YO Sprint (1200m) on March 30.
