The Oaks Stud freshman Darci Brahma sired his first winner courtesy of Super Easy in the KPR Catering Hcp at Trentham on Saturday. The John Sargent trained colt broke the 1000m juvenile record on debut clocking a sizzling 56.20s.
Super Easy (2c Darci Brahma – Parfore by Gold Brose) was sold by Esker Lodge for $140,000 at the NZB Premier yearling sale. He is raced by Joy N Happiness Stable and will eventually race in Hong Kong.
Super Easy is a half-brother to stakes-winner Our Lukas (Generous). The Robbie Heathcote trained gelding has won the last two Ipswich Cups and added another feature in the Seymour Cup in October. Their dam Parfore is a half-sister to the dam of NZ 2YO Group I winner Il Quello Veloce.
Darci Brahma (Danehill) was a million dollar yearling and won five Group 1 races including the T J Smith Classic and NZ 2000 Guineas. He is out of G1 winner Grand Echezeaux (Zabeel), a half-sister to Romanee Conti, the dam of Ethereal.
Darci Brahma stands for a $20,000 fee at The Oaks Stud.
