Boomer Bloodstock (FBAA) graduate Scales Of Justice can jag the second Group 1 of his career in the Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield this Saturday.

He broke through at the elite level in the Railway Stakes at Ascot and has recaptured that form this prep with a G3 Bletchingly Stakes victory at Caulfield and a last-start second in the G3 Spring Stakes at Morphettville.

Warrnambool-based trainer Lindsey Smith reports Scales Of Justice (Not A Single Doubt) pulled up well after returning from Adelaide and he will be joined by stablemate Black Heart Bart (Blackfriars) for the first Group 1 of the season in Melbourne.

Scales Of Justice has opened a $5 second-favourite behind Godolphin mare Alizee ($3.30).

Black-type also beckons Boomer graduate Sweet Deal after she went back-to-back in Sydney last Saturday. The John Thompson-trained mare will be on a hat-trick in the LR Mona Lisa Stakes at Wyong on September 6.

Sweet Deal saluted at double-figures in the Kogaroo Hcp (1400m) at Randwick which was way above the odds in light of her form since returning from the Brisbane winter carnival.

The daughter of Casino Prince camped on pacemaker Prime Candidate (Denman) before breaking clear at the furlong. “She travelled a little bit keenly until we ducked in behind the leader,” jockey Nash Rawiller reported. “We got a cart up and to her credit she pulled out something special.”

Sweet Deal was catalogued for the 2016 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale by her breeder Pip Cooper and was purchased by Boomer agent Craig Rounsefell for $67,500. She has turned that price-tag into earnings of $440,970.
