Former Darley Australia boss Olly Tait will transfer to the company’s Newmarket office in a major management re-shuffle. Tait helped oversee Sheikh Mohammed’s purchase of Woodlands Farm in 2008 before taking over as chief operating officer at Darley USA.
“Olly will continue to do what he is doing in America and our other studs around the world but will be based in Newmarket to help me share the workload,” said Sheikh Mohammed’s bloodstock advisor John Ferguson on Thursday. “He has worked for Darley in Australia, Japan, and America and has a wealth of international experience.”
Tait has a Group 1 pedigree. His father Sandy Tait raced G1 winners Tie The Knot and Spinning Hill while his grandfather Peter Tait owned Australian Broodmare of the Year Dark Jewel.
