Tauranga treble for Pentire

New Zealand sires’ premiership pacemaker Pentire added to his season’s haul with a winning treble at Tauranga on Thursday.

The brothers Beyond All Doubt and Credit Crunch were successful for the Rich Hill Stud resident, as was Dark Bishop.

Pentire (GB) currently leads the race for the Grosvenor Award with Mufhasa his chief contributor with 2011-12 earnings of NZ$165,000.

He is also making the running ahead of Zabeel for the Dewar Award and is second to High Chaparral on the Centaine Award standings.

Both Beyond All Doubt and Credit Crunch were sold by Rich Hill at Karaka with the former making $NZ70,000 and Credit Crunch a NZ$130,000 purchase.

They are out of the American-bred Cox’s Ridge mare Special Jade who has now left eight winners from her nine foals to race.

They also include the ill-fated Jungle Boots (Jungle Pocket) who won three races and was stakes-placed before his pre-mature demise.

The mare’s offspring have made their mark further afield with Northern Rock (Northern Taste) the winner of eight races and Group 1 placed in the Woodward Stakes in the United States, while Mon Vert (French Deputy) has been another multiple winner, who was Group 2 placed in Japan.

Rich Hill Stud will offer their half-sister by Dewhurst Stakes and Epsom Derby winner Sir Percy at NZ Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sales in 2012.
