French winning mare Finishing School topped Day 2 of the Perth Magic Millions Autumn Sale at Belmont on Sunday. She was offered by Mogumber Park as agent for local breeder Paul Fitzpatrick and made $205,000 to the bid of Perth agent John Chalmers.
Finishing School (Grand Lodge – Bright Finish by Zilzal) was a Fontainebleau winner for Sheikh Mohammed in May 2007 and she was sold in foal to G1 Newmarket Hcp winner Wanted. The British bred mare is a half sister to Dubai stakes winner Singing Poet.
G2 WA Guineas winner Moccasin Bend was also offered in foal to Wanted and she was next best on the leader-board when snapped up for $180,000 by Damon Gabbedy of Belmont Bloodstock.
The average price for the two-day sale rounded out at over $20,000. The clearance rate was 88% on turnover of $2.73 million.
