Trade Fair has been purchased by a Western Australian syndicate and will not return to Tweenhills Farm in Gloucestershire.

Trade Fair (Zafonic) had shuttled to Evergreen Lodge and was in quarantine in readiness to return to England.  Instead, he will return to WA immediately.  The deal was brokered by leading bloodstock agent John Chalmers who arranged the initial lease of the stallion from Tweenhills in 2006.

Lynward Park’s Ted van Heemst is the majority shareholder in the new syndicate that includes Bellbridge Park, Kintore Stud, Toreby Park and Rick Hart’s Kentville Pty Ltd.

Trade Fair sired 15 individual juvenile winners in his first northern crop last year and he’s off to a great start with his first Westspeed crop this season.  The Trevor Andrews trained Absolute Pleasure opened his account at Ascot on New Years Day.  His progeny will be even more competitive as three-year-olds.

Trade Fair carries a world class pedigree and represents the Mr Prospector sireline through Gone West and Zafonic.  His dam is a Danehill mare related to Irish 1000 Guineas winner Cairn Rouge.

Trade Fair was a Juddmonte homebred and competed at the highest level throughout his career before retiring to stud.  Regarded as strictly a top of the ground performer, he won twice at Group 3 and Listed levels and was also Group 1 placed in the time honoured Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket.

Known for producing well grown, correct individuals, Trade Fair created enormous interest at the 2009 Perth Magic Millions when 14 lots averaged $38,682.

Due to the E1 outbreak in 2007, Trade Fair was locked in quarantine at Eastern Creek and returned to England without covering a mare.  As a consequence, he has no yearlings catalogued for the 2010 Perth Magic Millions.
