Transylvania test for Singo shuttler

John Singleton’s build up for the G1 Doncaster will be temporarily diverted when Pluck runs in the G3 Transylvania Stakes at Keeneland on Saturday morning (AEST time).

Singleton’s champion More Than Ready mare More Joyous dominates betting as a $2 favourite for the Doncaster next Saturday, April 16.

Pluck is also by More Than Ready and Singo bought his southern hemisphere standing rights after the colt won the G2 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf at Churchill Downs in November.

Pluck (3c More Than Ready – Secret Heart by Fort Wood) was prepared by Hall of Fame trainer Todd Pletcher last year but is now under the care of Graham Motion.   The colt finished fourth when kicking off his three year-old campaign in a Tampa Bay Downs allowance event on March 12.

“I saw Pluck win the Breeders Cup win and it was incredible performance,” Singleton recalled.  “I only have a minority interest but it’s enough to give us the rights to shuttle him to Vinery.”

Pluck is a Team Valor homebred and is out of South African bred mare Secret Heart who was a Listed winner of the Prix du Cap at Kenilworth.

The Transylvania (1700m) is timed for 7.23 (AEST) on Saturday morning.  He will break from the outside gate under Garrett Gomez and will carry 56kg.
