Tycoon Timeline

Written Tycoon has 21 yearlings catalogued for the Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale and they will head to Oaklands Junction on the back of another winning week for the red-hot Woodside Park stallion;

Monday:  Australian Stud Book figures for the 2015 covering season show Written Tycoon served 184 mares at a $19,800 fee.  The Woodside Park sire was the busiest stallion in Victoria bar Reward For Effort.

Tuesday:  Written Tycoon finishes second on the Perth Magic Millions averages with 6 lots at $90,500.  He was runner-up to Snitzel for stallions with more than 3 sales.  Gangemi Racing buys his top-priced yearling – a $140,000 colt from a half-sister to Jet Spur.

Wednesday:  Brilliant Written Tycoon filly Hot Dipped blitzes her rivals by 8 lengths on debut in the Magic Millions Tasmanian 2YO Classic (1220m).  The Brendan McShane trained filly has accepted for the LR Gold Sovereign Stakes in Hobart on Wednesday.

Thursday:  Written Tycoon breaks the Tasmanian record at the Magic Millions with a colt from Kandy Korn (Flying Spur) that makes $115,000 to the bid of local trainer John Blacker.  “I believed he was the best colt of the sale,” Blacker said.  “He’s by one of the hottest sires around and I knew we would have to pay a decent amount for him.”

Friday AM:  Unbeaten Written Tycoon colt Capitalist pleases trainer Peter Snowden in a half-mile trial at Randwick.  The G1 Golden Slipper favourite was given an easy hit-out under Blake Shinn when collared right on the line by classy 3yo filly English.  Snowden will start him first-up in the G2 Todman Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on March 5.

Friday PM:  Written Tycoon flyer Aunty Mo wins her second Jeep 55 Second Challenge at Moonee Valley in 55.33s.  She clocked 55.15s a fortnight earlier and trainer Brendan McCarthy said he will be back for another crack at winning the Jeep Grand Cherokee.  Tuscan Sling set the current mark of 54.90s in Heat 1 of the Challenge.

Saturday:  Multiple black-type updates for Written Tycoon’s yearlings catalogued for Melbourne Premier.  Lot 364 is out of a half-sister to G2 Millie Fox Stakes winner First Seal and Lot 234 is from a three-quarter sister to Impassioned who was runner-up in the LR Challenge Stakes at Ascot.

Sunday:  Written Tycoon sires his 85th individual winner of the season when Royalic scores a barrier-to-box victory at Pinjarra.  The three year-old is part-owned by Woodside Park and was having his first start in the west for trainer Dan Morton.
