Regally bred stallion Typhon will cover his first mares at Glenrae Stud in South Australia this year. He will stand for a $1,500 service fee.
Typhon (4h God’s Own – Scandinavia by Snippets) was bred by Eliza Park’s Lee Fleming and is a younger half-brother to the dam of world champion Black Caviar. He is also a three-quarter brother to Fleming’s leading first-season sire Magnus.
God’s Own (Redoute’s Choice) was a Group 1 winner of the 2005 Caulfield Guineas and is beginning to make inroads after a subdued start to his stud career at Eliza Park.
Typhon was purchased unraced by Glenrae owners John and Colin Young at the Inglis Great Southern Sale last month. He will join former Eliza Park sire Danbird (Danehill) and Argentine bred Citizen Kane (Ibero) on the roster at their Port Broughton property.
