Group 1 winner Undoubtedly is enjoying a new lease of life at the Liston family’s Three Bridges Thoroughbreds in Victoria.

Three Bridges is family owned and operated by Peter, Pauline and Toby Liston who have been involved in the industry for over 30 years.  After a successful stint in South Australia at Lakewood Stud, the Listons are now based at Eddington which is only 90 minutes from Melbourne via the Calder Highway.

Undoubtedly is by Danehill’s champion sire son Redoute’s Choice and he was a Group 1 winner of the 2005 Blue Diamond Stakes.  His 2009 service fee has been set at $7,700 (inc gst).

Undoubtedly was bred by Toorak Park owner Harry Perks who kept a share in the colt after he was sold for $190,000 at the 2004 Adelaide Magic Millions.  Redoute’s Choice got him from the Don’t Say Halo mare Kiss A Halo who also foaled the Group winning juveniles Regal Kiss and Toorak Thunder.

Perks will beef up Undoubtedly’s book with several of his own mares.  “They are nearly all stakes winners or stakes producing mares,” Liston said.  “Undoubtedly is the best value stallion in Australia.”

Undoubtedly will serve a restricted book of 55 mares this year to ensure his fertility remains at commercial levels.  He retired to Paringa Park in 2006 and covered 83 mares at a 74% success rate.  His PPT levels plummeted to 43% the following year.

Undoubtedly’s first two year-olds are ready to start racing this season.  There were 24 of his yearlings sold at the 2009 majors at an average of $23,938.  His top-priced youngster was the $130,000 filly from Bluebird mare Hasty Bird that Mark Kavanagh purchased at the 2009 Inglis Easter yearling sale.

“They will come out and run as early two-year-olds,” Liston added.  “Just like Undoubtedly and Redoute’s Choice.”
