Vinery Price-list accelerates in Adelaide

Leading Adelaide trainers Richard & Chantelle Jolly have prepared another Vinery-sired winner for Price Bloodstock Management at Morphettville.

Headwater 3yo Keep Reading maintained his unbeaten record last weekend and their All Too Hard debutant Hardtoexplain won like another professional in the Accolade Wines Plate (1200m) on Saturday.

Hardtoexplain overcame a belated start to his career to prevail over the favourite Castle Of Kings (NZ).  They streeted the rest of the field by more than 8 lengths.  “He was strong to win that battle first-up,” Richard Jolly said.  “He showed some class in what was a messy race early but Jake (Toeroek) was able to guide him through for a nice win.

“We’re thankful to have such quality horses from our big supporters Price Bloodstock.”

Hardtoexplain and Keep Reading are destined to further their careers in Hong Kong for clients of Price Bloodstock’s David Price and Jenny Chapman.  So is their unraced 3yo stablemate Winning Lotto (All Too Hard) who won a Balaklava trial in June.

All Too Hard sired five winners on Saturday and he added a sixth on the weekend with Sharper at Sale on Sunday.  The Vinery champion is part of a breakaway group at the top of the Australian winners’ table headed by Deep Field (24), I Am Invincible (23), So You Think (21) and All Too Hard (20).

Bert Vieira bred Hardtoexplain and sold him as a yearling through Erinvale Thoroughbreds for $60,000 at the 2019 Inglis Melbourne Premier.  His dam Coeur D’amour (More Than Ready) was a Sandown Hillside winner for Peter Moody and is a half-sister to Adelaide Stakes winner Upstaged (In The Wings).  Vieira also bred All Too Hard gelding Ocean Crossing who has won 6 races to date in Singapore.

Hardtoexplain is a product of the All Too Hard – More Than Ready cross which has now produced 35 individual winners at a 73% strike-rate.  Group 1 winning filly Forbidden Love signalled more black-type for that combination this spring with a fast-finishing fourth first-up in the Toy Show Quality (Gr.3, 1100m) at Randwick on Saturday.

Vinery stands All Too Hard for a $33,000 (inc GST) service fee with payment on a live foal.  For bookings or further information, please contact Adam White (0414 800 918) or Harry Roach (0401 970 006).
